Which would you rather see?

Cards take 3 out of 4 from the Brew Crew but it catapults the Cubs into 1st place?

or

Cards lose 3 of 4 and the Cubs lose a few which results in a more comfortable lead for the Brew Crew.

In other words, are you cheering for the Cards to lose this weekend... or maybe just "not cheering for them to win."

The reason I ask is because there are MANY people on this site who have given up on this season.

Personally, I'm not yet to that stage.. but a month from now if we are still 8+ back and the Cubs and Brew Crew are neck and neck, I might just "not cheer for the Cards to win."

I'm sure this sounds horrible to some of you but I don't want to see the damn cubs win a WS EVER!

Cards First
Always Cards first, I don't care if the Cards winning a game seals the Div championship for the Cubs.  I don't hold a hatred for the Cubs that causes me to ever look for a Cards Loss.

Win
We have 4 games against the Brewers this weekend, then 7 games against the Cubs/Brewers in the middle of next month.

I'd prefer to win these games and then keep pace with the two teams (who have a harder schedule between then and now) and give ourselves a chance.

Interested in pre-1990 Cardinals games on tape

Win
Ya gotta win all you can, no matter who you are playing until you are mathematically eliminated.
Let the other teams worry about each other. I can see the point of screwing the cubs though.

Yep
Cards first--always. The last thing I want to see is a Cubs divisional win, but if things work out that we do crush the Crew, that puts us back in contention as well (as long as Cincy takes a game or two from Chi). I cannot hope for our boys to lose, no matter the results for another team. Besides, not being psychic, I am loathe to assume that both the Crew and Cubs will continue to play at the levels they've shown so far. Perhaps the Crew is running out of gas. Perhaps the Cubs have peaked too soon--or will experience a bout of DL-itis--and will limp thru the final month. Perhaps the Cards are just coming into a stride of sorts that will pay off big. I'm guilty as anyone of pretty much giving up on the season, but there is a lot of baseball yet to play. If the Crew sweep us or take 3 of 4--and the Cubs sweep Cincy and continue winning against the Phils and Mets, well, I do believe that's it--but that's a tall order for them as well. If they falter and our boys gain some consistency of health and play, we may yet have a chance of catching the Cubs. Ending the season ahead of Chicago but below Milwaukee would be a meaningless but satisfying victory I would be okay with. Whatever the case, we'll all know fairly soon if any of this is still possible.

Definitely Cards first...
but if the Cubs win it all this year we won't get to celebrate their 100th anniversary of their last championship next year.

Right now you have to root for the Cards, cause they're not out of it yet.  In a month...I'm not sure how I'll feel.

For me...
It's more a question of what is best for the Cards future.  I could really care less who wins the division if it's not going to be the Cards.

I'm more concerned that IF they win the series vs. the Brewers that they stand pat at the deadline and we are in for more of the same next year.

That is what worries me.

Pitch to swing and misses...not contact. I've never heard of a "seeing eye K"

Win. Always win.
(From the title, I thought this diary was going to involve Jose Lima's wife, though. I'm a bit disappointed.)
