PrintDid anyone else notice this? Placed on the 15 day DL after an MRI revealed he has a sprained right elbow. Cavazos recalled from Memphis.
Another "phantom injury"?
I was looking forward to Welle in the bullpen role too. Figures... get one guy back, lose another.
Brendan Ryan sent down to make room for Eckstein, who should be in the starting lineup tonight.

Phantom injury: Yes
The abuse of the DL is pretty rampant throughout baseball -- everyone just turns a blind eye.
Kip Wells basically has 2 starts to save his job
The other is at Miami, against whome he has a 2.36 ERA with a 34:199 K:BB line.
For his career, Kip hasn't been better against any other franchises.
