Craig Biggio

Although not technically a Cardinals item, as fans of baseball we should all tip our caps to Craig Biggio of our (normally) arch rival Houston Astros for reaching his 3000+ hit plateau in grand style last night -- going 5 for 5.  Just as impressive, in my opinion, is that he's had this (likely) Hall-of-Fame-worthy career all with one team.  I wish that the Cardinals could have more of that type of long-term player commitment and extended performance (Albert Pujols?)

I hate Craig Biggio....
In fact, I hate all the killer Bs....esp. Berkman, but ESP Biggio!!!!!

...I hate Houston Astros....

What in god's name is this doing on a St. Louis Cardinals Board!!!!

Just kidding (kind of)....He's had a hell of a career...and these days to stay with the same team for an entire career is very impressive/admirable. I have dreams that Albert Pujols will also collect his #3000 as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Class Acts
Congrats go out to Craig Biggio on this board because he's also been a class act and great competitor.  I have great respect for he and Bagwell as men and baseball players.

But I'm glad he didn't get his 3000th off a Cardinal pitcher.  ;o)

Has anyone
ever been thrown out trying to stretch their 3000th hit into a double before?  :-)  That was pretty wild...

Anyhow, congrats Biggio... :-)

Congratulations
to Craig Biggio and the Astros organisation in general.  The Biggio/Bagwell combination is one of the great duos in baseball history, and as much as I root against them, I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the Astros teams of the last ten years because of the amazing battles they and the Cards have waged.
I hate so much about the way that you choose to be.

Also
The bigge is three away from breaking the all-time HBP record.  So he's got that going for him, too.

I have liked him
since he came up.  Class act as far as I can tell.  Best wishes to him.
