Secret Weapon

Probably just my imagination, but Troy Cate looked like a big-league pitcher last night. Maybe because it was the Royals or maybe because they were all tipsy like Mike Shannon. I know he didn't have much success at Memphis as a starter (and by much I really mean any), but choices are running out fast for the big club.

Ohka....scary....Wells....yikes....Franklin....team says he is staying in the pen.....Percival....not funny.

So that leaves either the piggyback system which I would favor since it just seems to me that starting pitchers this year for St. Louis pitch quite well for 4 innings then implode. Cate is a soft-tossing lefty that normally gives the Cards lots o' trouble. Maybe the same thing would work for the rest of the National League. Or until a real big-league pitcher wants to make an appearance.
