Pujols-Ramirez errilly similar bad starts

For my money, Pujols and Ramierez are the two best right-handed hitters in the game. So it's  striking to see how similar their starts have been -

Albert Pujols
AVG .245 | HR 6 | RBI 21  | OBP .339 | SLG .413

Manny Ramirez
AVG .250 | HR 6 | RBI 25  | OBP .343 | SLG .399

So, just in case you thought unexplainable ineptitude of a great hitter was only our problem...others feel our pain.

Of course, the sox are in first place, so they are not worried about it.

Us on the other hand....meh

you could add lance berkman
and ryan howard to the list of slow starters:

berkman:
avg .276 | hr 5 | rbi 21 | obp .425 | slg .396

howard:
avg .204 | hr 6 | rbi 23 | obp .380 | slg .429

those guys are at least getting on base, but they're not slugging the ball . . . .

on this day in 2002
Pujols began the day hitting .280 but only had 5 HRs (he would go on to hit his 6th).  I don't have his other numbers off hand, and I'd imagine they're better than this year, but he's gone through other sub-Albert stretches.

incidentally, this was my first major league game.  I seemed to remember Pujols being sub-.300 at that point and decided to dredge up all those bad memories to confirm it.

Acquire some runs!

The worst part
for me is that Pujols is the anchor of one of my fantasy teams, and Ramirez is the anchor of the other.  I'm going to owe some people some money if these guys don't turn it around!

If there's a baseball heaven, Albert Pujols is God.

what
Why in the world is PW on your fantasy team? You know, you can drop players and pick up new guys . . .
On with the youth movement!
