I believe we sent Tino to the D-Rays in '04 when he had $7.5 million left on his contract, and we ate all but a million. And all we got was Evan Rust and PTBNL who never amounted to anything.

Tino was less crappy in '04 than Weaver is now, imo...

"7-0 cardinals ... yes, the cardinals." the team that is the worst at everything in history, worse than any team ever, especially at offense, which is the same as hitting, but not the same thing as pitching to contact. at that they are particularly bad. but somehow they are doing well tonight.

Could the Dodgers possibly hit balls any closer to Cardinals players' gloves without getting out?  Sheesh.

Speaking of running, Jim Edmonds is running a lot better on the basepaths.  He doesn't look like he's wounded anymore.

Even though the Cardinals didn't score again after Tomko was in the books, they made a bunch of loud outs and hit a bunch of 'Atom' balls.

Hopefully they can get to Lowe and his sinkers early.

The Reds have a $13 M option on him next year and then nothing and I'm sure they are having doubts about locking him up longterm as he really isn't progressing as anything more than a slam or k hitter.

They are falling terribly out of contention, even for only being the month of May and have outfield depth with Hamilton, Freel and a healthy Griffey.  Not to mention, I'm sure they would rather spend the $15m+ it will take to get him locked up long term on a better defensive OF that isn't as bad during stretches as he is.

Just a thought.
