The Willie Mays-Hayes Rule
OK, so I just bought the latest release of the original Major League DVD, and I was reminded of the rule installed by the manager where if Willie Mays-Hayes hit a pop fly, he had to do a set number of push-ups as punishment (cough)--I mean as training. Watching our Sparkplug WS MVP this season pop-up waaaay too many times thus far has me thinking that Tony needs to install this rule. If nothing else, he can grit and hustle his way through them. What do you all think? Shoot...there are 5 or 6 guys in the lineup that would be doing nothing but push-ups for days.

That reminds me
I'm not sure what they did on line drives, but it seems Eck is constantly hitting the bottom of the ball which is an indicator of either lack of strength or he's trying to pull everything. It's proabbly a combination of the 2.
I'd say make it $20 a popup...
He's got to get something going soon, or he'll be lucky to find a team next year. This is a walk year, and so far, he's done nothing but struggle, both with the glove and with the bat.
call me crazy but i want to keep eck

not that they are great, but the Cards always have avg, low power middle infielders. Besides Renteria who had some pop, we haven't seen strong wood in the middle IF for years.

You are crazy.
It's time for new plugs and wires...that's why the engine is running so poorly.
