Rickey Henderson?

So, Rickey Henderson wants to come back for "one final season" and play in in the majors one last time.

Since our outfield is playing horribly, why not Rickey?

-He'd give us all a reason to keep watching. (Think about it: at one point in the season, our OFs could consist of a 48-year-old HOFer and a converted pitcher.)
-He was average with the glove in '03 and he seems to have kept himself in shape since then
-At this point, a 48-year old with a 70 OPS+ in '03 probably would be our best RFer.
-Think about it; we'd have Rickey Freaking Henderson on our team. That would be cool.

Rickey
Make no mistake, Rickey has had an absolutely incredible ability to get on base no matter his average. since 2000:

AVG     OBP
.233     .368   2000
.227     .366   2001
.223     .369   2002
.208     .321   2003

But that's the issue, it's obvious he just can't hit anymore, but damn he can get on base. It's amazing the OBP he has put up for not being a power hitter. He averaged 130 points above his average for his career. But I don't know what you could realistically expect from him at age 48. After age 40 he's stolen 72 bases at a pretty respectable 78%. I think even at his age, he could help some team just by his ability to get on base, but I would sooner give the at bats to Ludwick or Ankiel.

Yeah;
we've still got a chance, but what would we lose to give him $700,000 to be a bat off the bench?

I mean, come on; we've got Skip Schumaker sucking up AB's; you telling me Rickey can't do better than .233/.277/.279?

Regarding Henderson...
For that matter, I'd rather have Canseco.

of a Coleman, McGee, Henderson outfeild.

Sure,
and while they're at it, why not bring Lou Brock out of retirement? Or maybe Skates is still around?

it was a simple request.
why did you have to do that? henderson may be past his prime, but he can still get on base (somehow)

I AM NOT COMPARING
HENDERSONS CAREER TO WILSONS. BECAUSE THERE IS NO COMPARSION. RICKEY IS A FUTURE HALL OF FAMER. WILSON IS AVERAGE AT BEST.MAYBE GOOD AS A ROLE PLAYER.THIS IS ALL STUPID ANYWAY. LUDWICK , JUAN E, WILSON, SO T. THEY HAVE PLENTY OF RH OUTFIELDERS. WHAT IS GOING TO BE INTERESTING TO SEE IS WAS HAPPENS WHEN JUAN E AND WILSON COME OFF THE DL. WHO WILL THEY SEND DOWN? I HOPE LUDWICK STAYS UP.ONE MORE THING ABOUT WILSON. YES I WANTED TO SEE HIM COMEBACK BUT IF HE IS NOT PRODUCING LIKE THEY WANT THEY SHOULD LET HIM GO. JUST LIKE ANYBODY

i want rickey!
Rickey and dream weaver?  That's pure comedy.

"Rickey doesn't like the hippy giving up doubles into the gap.  Ricky has to chase them."

YES!
that would be amazing. Rickey can do anything he puts his mind to. i honestly do not think he owuld be any worse than taguchi or wilson. i have a feeling that for the rest of the season we will all need a reason to watch the cardinals, this would definitely keep the interest level up.
hit em where they aint
