Bring back Reggie?

I know it's a small sample size and he's always one tricky flyball away from an extended trip to the DL, but I'd sure like to have him right about now.

The Royals are not going anywhere in that division this year. Come June, assuming KC is 10+ games out and Reggie's not hurt, I think Walt should try and reacquire Reggie. He can still rake, the fans love him, and he's good for the clubhouse.

It'd be great if they could get someone like Dye, but I just think the asking price will be too high (for a 33 year-old career 110 OPS+ rightfielder who can walk at the end of the year). Plus, Walt should stick to dealing with GMs that don't know what they're doing (no more trades with Cleveland or Oakland please).

I don't think so ...
I don't really know who would be available that would fit with the Cardinals trading chips, but I don't think that he is the answer. I would rather take our chances with what we've got and see if the Cardinals can turn it around offensively.

no, no, no, no
He's not worth it. We have Enc. coming back, and there's no point of trading anyone for ANOTHER veteran outfielder who is on the verge of being washed up. Our outfield is packed, and when Enc gets back, he'll put up similar numbers.

If we're gonna trade, might as well go after one of the young guys on the Devil Rays or something like that.

On with the youth movement!

I agree with this post...
We need to start thinking young, the Devil Rays have alot of great players but are running out of places to put them.

We don't have Enc
That's the problem. We let Reggie walk because of durability issues. Enc now has his own durability issues, plus he's got an attitude problem. He's got 2 rings, but disappeared in the postseason in both instances. He's the anti-mr-october.

I see him as a career underachiever who turns it on from time to time just enough to keep his numbers respectable. His defense is average - gifted range combined with bad game awareness. Now he's hurt and we're not sure when he'll return or how effective he'll be when he does return.

Reggie on the other hand - while frail and prone to the strikeout - can be a serious weapon when he's on. With all the replacement level OFs in our system, Reggie would bring something different to the table.
