Looper starting off against Mets
I don't get why you throw Looper in his first ML start against the Mets when the rotation could have been stacked to put Reyes in that slot. Looper facing Beltran and Delgado (lefty power) ... doesn't look like the smart play.
Anybody else got a take on why this makes sense?

personally, i think he's gonna get smacked around. but that, plus TLR/Dunc's predeliction for having veterans at the top of the rotation, is probably what's dictating the decision.

Or...
This was discussed in the post
Looper's first start is rough, but then he has 2 starts against the Pirates and 2 starts against the Cubs...both pretty shy of lefties.
Also
his wife gave birth
I think he'll be back for opening day
