Umm, what is your point?
Posting a bunch of stats alone does not constitute a good diary.

He'd meant to put it
At the end of this diary, that was good. Failure to include a close tag hosed that page, it would appear.

Yeah I figured that out.
But that doesn't mean this is a good Diary.  He could put all relevant info here and ask LB to delete or move comments from the other diary.

Thanks for breaking that down.
The format is much better on this one.

To your point....

The best fit (in terms of what we could get back) must meet 3 criteria.

  1.  This team must be in the mindset to compete.  A team that doesn't, at least somewhat, fancy itself a contender would probably rather take a chance on a young guy or DD special (retread) than give up any useful young player for a 4 or 5 guy.
  2.  A mid to larger market team would probably be the best fit.  A team with payroll constrictions might not be interested, but to others a near league average starter is a steal for 6.5M
  3.  The need must be there.  This team has to have a clear dropoff after the 3 spot in their rotation.
Who fits the bill?

Seattle- Their 4 and 5 startes had a vorp of -9.7 and -12.1, respectively.  They were in the hunt until the very end where they ran flat.  They also sported a payroll of about 107M, good for 7th in baseball.  Would they be willing to part with Ibanez?  Jones is on his way, and Guillen has a reasonable option for next year.  How about a young pitcher like Brandon Morrow?

Philly-  They very well may be interested.  They aren't happy with Eaton, Moyer is 83, Lohse is a FA and Kendrick is pretty unproven.  They should be players in the east again, and the payroll is there...90M.  Victorino may be and available, and they have some interesting prospects like Adrian Cardenas SS/2B, and Josh Outman LHP.

There are a few others that fit the mold to like Cincy, Colorado and Atlanta.

You may be able to get pretty good value for old Loop from one of these teams.

Interesting
Makes me wonder if Zambrano is worth his extension based on this statistic.  Look at the number of #2 and even #3 starters who have a higher VORP and a much smaller salary.  Is it any wonder based on this that the Cubs got swept in the first round?
