Dear Diary,
I wasn't sure this was worth an entry at first but when I thought about it for a second time I decided that I had a lot to say about this article I recently found linked from sabernomics.com.

Sabernomics is an awesome site for anyone interested in the money side of baseball but the site is run by a Braves fan so you have to deal with a focus on that team.  I also want to pick up his book sometime this off season.  The sabernomics guy has been all over the HGH issues since the start of the season if you want to go back and read all of his posts on it.  Basically all the research he has done has lead to absolutely no gain from HGH, in this latest article he was reading a Chicago Cards fan wrote about Rick and presented all the facts we know about the case and tries to bring what we thought about it at the time to a new light.

My take on this article is that with him being a Cards fan he is like all of us immediately biased (good or bad) but he does seem to do a decent job keeping it in check.  Also I like his comparison of Ankiel to Bonds and how what they "did" really isn't the same at all.  While I don't beleive as the comments point to that Cortisone or Tylenol is in the same category as HGH I am having a very hard time finding anything wrong with taking it at this point.

So what do you think Diary?  Is HGH a performance enhancing drug? Should it be banned?  Does the end of the long season bring it any more into focus?  Or does the end of the season make you wish it would go away for good and not be brought up in yet another entry on your white walls?  Inquiring minds want to know.
