Ahhh Bernie the Theft
Bernie stole my stuff that I posted on his forum.

"Of course, general manager Walt Jocketty could intensify efforts to acquire another outfielder. The discard pile includes the recently demoted Jose Cruz Jr., (Dodgers). Cruz won a Gold Glove, has hit lefthanded pitchers well this season but is worthless against righthanders."

I seriously just posted that yesterday on his site and gave all my Cruz loving numbers to back it up.

Spooky!
That 2-1 prediction was right on! I'm sure you've spent your luck on that one though, it seldom carries over to lottery purchases.

Great game by JW though. I think he'll be nails the rest of the season. Can we dump Marquis yet?

how awesome
would it be if the cards went and got preston wilson [who hits lefties pretty well] and used him for the stretch drive to thwart off houston?  he'd also be great insurance in case Jed's not good to go, can play all 3 OF positions, and a nice power bat off the bench for cheap.  either way, he's better than taguchi, timo, j-rod, or whoever else crappy outfielder we've tried out there [except spiezo].  more than anything it'd be nice to stick it to the 'stros.  any thoughts?

oh man......
go back and check yesterdays conversations about Mr.Wilson buddy....and I think you'll find, as I did, that its just not a good topic to bring up!.. LOL

Houston
the astros are doing a pretty good job of thwarting off themselves.  They're terrible on the road (and recently, at home) and are about to embark on an 11 game road trip.  I'm not counting them out yet, but I can't help but smile every time they lose.

the 'stros
are just like nagging mosquitoes.  they don't go away, and just seem to hang around.  they have the best 3 starters of ANY team in the NL and arguably in baseball, so it really doesn't matter what their offense looks like [see 2004/2005], they're pitching always keeps them in it, and i don't want to face oswalt again in the playoffs.  we gotta step on their throats and officially eliminate them.

I'd rather pick up..
Jose Cruz, Jr.  he can do all of the things Wilson can with a little less power, but he hits lefties better and he plays a lot better defense.
