Each week, Michael Lazarus at Foxsports ranks starting pitchers using stats such as WHIP, K/BB, etc. Guess who cracked the top 20 in the majors this week, sandwiched between Scott Kazmir (20) and Brad Penny (18)? Our old friend Danny Haren.

Carp is 8th (and has been a steady top 10 name all season). Imagine if we could skim the list and find a Cardinal ranked at 8 and 19.

I just couldn't avoid reading this diary...

Maybe we'll see Reyes or Wainwright on that list next year...

Doubtful

Reyes won't make any list of top SPs unless he can quit throwing gopher balls. Surrendering 12 HRs in 64 IPs isn't going to cut it. Neither is a 1.50 WHIP at home. He's got potential, but has to get more consistent with location since he doesn't have the power to blow it by hitters if he misses his spot.
