Edmonds could seriously be in bad Shape
This is from Bernie off his forum
"This could be a big deal...
At least, Edmonds has a serious post-concussion syndrome...
not in lineup tonite...not sure when he will play again...
could be diabetes, hypoglycemia...other serious illnesses... checking everything.... team concerned.... ran a battery of tests today, including a vision exam.
Edmonds didn't even know -- a day after -- when he came out of the game last night ... he thought it was the second or third inning....can't see very well... had a hard time seeing the ball last night... driving home last night, couldn't see the traffic signs.
Edmonds talked to Strauss about 15 minutes ago... says he's really mystified and troubled.

This is not good...
Maybe Walt will be looking on the waiver wire for a CF: Cruz or newly released Preston "K" Wilson. Oh God.
Anybody know when J-Rod is eligible to come back to the big club?
I think

Wow
They just said
Ugh
Well, in Jimmy's defense...
I think if he's gonna be healthy by next year, we owe it to him to work out a deal to stay. Whether it was smart or not, the guy went out there and played seriously hurt without telling anyone because we needed him.

Update
"I was in the hospital, in the MRI tube last night for an hour," Edmonds said on Wednesday afternoon. "Today I've been to two different places, basically just doing everything. [They] did blood work today just to make sure it wasn't something else -- an infection, all the way down to having low blood sugar, to being a nutritional problem, to being some kind of something else. We're just testing everything we can to see what happens."
The most likely scenario, however, is that Edmonds is encountering the effects of post-concussion syndrome. He sustained a concussion on June 21 in Chicago, missing three games. For the past several days, he has experienced symptoms similar to those that bothered him in June.
"I've noticed it off and on for a while," Edmonds said. "But I've just really felt bad the last four or five days, just kind of clueless. I started to notice it when I tried to catch two fly balls on Saturday night. One almost came out of my glove and one I almost missed. You probably wouldn't have noticed it on TV, but it didn't feel very normal. That's when I started thinking about it."
Diabetes and hypoglycemia are among the conditions that Edmonds and the medical staff hope to rule out. In the meantime, he will be held out of active duty, though not placed on the disabled list. Juan Encarnacion started in center field on Wednesday night.
Edmonds speculated that either of a couple of dives in the outfield in recent days might have brought on the dizzy spells and blurred vision, but he emphasized that he's most uncertain as to exactly what's going on.
