jon miller is a moron
he clearly kicks dirt up in front of the bag with the toe of his cleats.

Also, way to be Juancar on the call for an appeal.

Hey Joe?

Every 1 row deep HR that the ASStros hit into the Crapford boxes is a bad break for every NL team.

I have NEVER seen a Stl player hit a dinger 1-3 rows back, we always hit HR's there that would be gone regardless of where the Birds were playing.  Houston?  King of the 360 foot HR.

Hancock deserved this
I saw him at Busch, at the beginning of the Cubs/Cards series where Albert got hurt, and the slide started, and Hancock pitched late in that extra (14) innings game. He pitched his guts out, and didn't deserve the loss he got that night.
Glad he got the win tonight... what a crazy game to watch...
And Miles... who knew he could be clutch 2 nights in a row!!  I mean, the guy is only 4 foot eight!

Rock Bottom
I said two days ago I thought they hit rock bottom and had started to level off.  Yes it took two extra inning games the last two days to win the series but they played fairly good baseball to do it.  And they didn't really pitch very poorly tonight either.  Just some bad luck on a couple of pitches.  Anyway start the second half like we ended the first in Houston, go get a leftfielder and let the chips fall where they may.

by TexasCard on Jul 10, 2006 12:38 AM EDT reply actions

The important thing about this game
is that the team played with a lot of heart. Some of them made mistakes, but instead of folding, they hung tough and grinded out a win. Rolen had a big homerun, but neither he, Pujols nor Edmonds came through in the clutch this time: intead it was Miles, Taguchi, Looper, Hancock and plain ole teamwork.

by rob is back on Jul 10, 2006 12:40 AM EDT reply actions

Pujols and Edmonds didn't come through in
the clutch...but they sure tried to.  Jimmy drills one to the wall and Albert his a 1 out triple.  They did their damnedest.

Hancock threw the ball tonight.  I don't get a chance to see as many games as others on this board, but from what I've seen he seems to have the stuff to get some more "important" innings like the one he got tonight.

MV3 in the last 7 days....
7 games
84 at-bats
24 hits
8 doubles
1 triple
5 homeruns
15 RBIs
11 BBs

You'd be suprised of those 3 who has been the most productive in the last 7 days.  Actually, you probably wouldn't.

by Hardcore Legend on Jul 10, 2006 2:29 AM EDT reply actions

Actually, let's just look at July
9 Games
108 at-bats
35 hits
9 doubles
10 homeruns
14 BBs
25 RBIs

MV3 is averaging .324 with a double, a homerun, a walk and a half and almost 3 RBIs a game in the month of July.  They keep that up and I bet we win a few games.

by Hardcore Legend on Jul 10, 2006 2:33 AM EDT up reply actions

If Jimmy can stay productive the rest of the year
a middling bat in LF would probably be all we would need for our lineup.  It would also let WJ focus on the bullpen and acquire a strikeout guy perhaps.

by azruavatar on Jul 10, 2006 6:55 AM EDT up reply actions

Crazy game
Yadi's play was phenomenal.  He gats a pass on hos O for the rest of the season for that.

Who would have thought the heroes would be Miles, Blooper and Hancock (I'm not generally a fan of his)?

Luna looked poor in the field and Juan E.'s GIDP made me throw things which scared my kids and mde them cry at bedtime.  Damn you Juan E. why must you do this to me?

And god bless Albert Pujols on his triple.

I love seeing Oswalt, or any Astro looking foolish (thank you Oswatl and Eric Munson for comic relief).

What a way to enter the ASB.

And by the way lboros - you're not fooling anyone.  An 8 hour training on a Saturday?  Is that what traffic school is called these days?

by BozCardsFanSF on Jul 10, 2006 2:55 AM EDT reply actions

While we're piling on
Luna, let's not forget J-Rod's gaff in the OF. He's lucky Houston couldn't take advantage of it.
And I loved the Deportes feed we had for a while... anything to shut Joe Morgan up. Plus you gotta love the home run call...
