Soriano Watch

Trade deadline is today, July 31st, at 4pm EST. The biggest name left on the block is Alfonso Soriano. Where is he gonna go?

I'm gonna guess the Twins, they have the most depth in their minor-league system to give up to the Nats. Bowden is a dumby though, so he can probably be easily ripped off.

[update] I went ahead and removed Texas and Detroit from the poll, they had no votes, and added the Dodgers and Marlins, who are both in the race for Sori. Kind've strange that the Marlins would be willing to trade for Sori, but they do have a LOT of pitching prospects.

soriano
i think he either goes to the angels or twins, i dont think he is going to houston as some have said; i personally hope he goes to the angels, that lineup would be deadly; i just dont know where they would play him, they already have figgins, guerrero and anderson in the OF with juan rivera at DH and kennedy is at 2B

andersons knees
could disinegrate at any moment...or is it his back...whichever he's not a good OF and not a good DH...come to think of it he's just not very good.

they would
relegate kennedy to a bench role in a heartbeat. he hasn't been too good all year.

anyone check out
redreporter.com this morning? bowden apparently may have waited too long and now may not pull the trigger on a deal because he doesn't know what the heck is goin' on.

i sincerely hope he fudges up, soriano stays in washington and they have to let him walk and get nothin' in return.

maybe the cardinals would friggin' sign him as a free agent.

dodgers
last i heard the dodgers were in the lead.  the nats had to lower their asking price.  i still think he gets moved.

more on sori...
Five-horse race for Soriano

According to ESPN.com's Jayson Stark, two new teams are making a late run at Alfonso Soriano: the Red Sox and Marlins.
Although the Sox are not interested in unloading their supply of young, electric arms, never say never. And no team has more bright pitching prospects than Florida.

Meanwhile, the Nats continue to talk to the Astros, Angels and Twins. But the Dodgers have faded from the trade radar.

Marlins?
Why in the world would they go after Soriano? They have no chance this year: unless they want to break the bank to re-sign him so they can get that stadium they want...

actually...
they do have a shot in hell at the wild card...

but a very small shot.

I'm betting that they flip him
in a three-team trade, but to who?
