Carp 3.05 ERA 39 Ks
Suppan 4.76 ERA 17Ks
Marq 5.98 ERA 25 Ks
Reyes 6.36 ERA 18Ks

Someone please check my math to make sure I've got that right.

I hadn't realized that Reyes had been pitching the worst of that bunch, even worse than Bipolar Betty.  I personally like the kid.  I love the way he wears his hat and the way he wears his socks and 3 weeks ago, I was all about not trading him.

As a rookie, he is expected to have a learning curve and hit bumps a long the way.  However, he is currently getting less Ks than nibbler Soup and posting a worse ERA than Meltdown Marquis.

What's going wrong? I know people will say that it is TLR/Dunc messing with his approach and forcing him to pitch a different way than he wants to.  His K/P ratio has dropped from 70% the first month to 65% the second month to now below 60% in July.  It could be that TLR are asking him to nibble more, but that would contradict the idea that they forced him to pitch to contact.  

His K per pitch ratio is now right on par with that of Suppan.
