Top 10 Busts?

While searching for more information on the St. Louis Cardinals and MLB in general I stumbled across this.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?id=2518991&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab2pos1

This is a link of baseballs biggest busts. Surprisingly, or un-surprisingly to some, 3 Cardinals (Or ex-Cardinals) managed to make this list. Just curious as to if everyone agrees with it or if they could think of a few who did not make an appearance here?

this is a load of crap
the cards arent paying much for ponson.  they arent paying much for weaver.  and from lboros post a couple days back, looper is actually playing to his contract value.  i just don't understand how ponson and weaver are huge bust if we had so low of expectations to begin with.

the contracts
they signed with the cardinals aren't what made them busts.  ponson signed a big contract with the orioles, and weaver signed a big contract with the angels.  both of there contracts are in their last year (I think).  so they would qualify as big busts for the angels and orioles, not cardinals.

looper?
"Looper, with a 3.96 ERA, has given up 40 hits in 38 innings, and has not been any better as a setup man than he was as a closer."

thats crap, looper has been a great set up man.

ESPN BS
They have misrepresented who is paying what, so there is no instructive info here.  Most of these deals sited are still in the too-early-to-know class.

I used to be interested in what they had to say at ESPN, but increasingly I watch Sportcenter with the sound off, and can't be bothered to read the kind of uselss drivel they write such as this.

Fan for Life. Go Cards.

The fall of ESPN
I use to be a pretty faithful reader of ESPN.com, bu now it is just horrible.  The only guy worth reading is Simmons and he is more of a comedian than a sports expert.  The fact is that there is so many great sport sites dedicated to certain aspects of each game (ie sabermetrics or here with cardinals baseball) that they will naturally blow away the content of a big general sports site.  That is the reason deadspin is so important.  Leitch realizes that there is all this good content out there, he just has to point everyone in the right direction.

ESPN
Simmons is great and their boxing writer, Dan Rafael does a great job as well.  Other than that, most of the stuff on there is pro Yankee and pro Red Sox or it's just crap.  You can't read most of it anyway because of the stupid ESPN Insider, which I don't subscribe to because I think it's a ripoff to make people pay for articles online.

To me this list is inconsitient
Wright, Pavano and Guzman Beltre Sexton all signed last year. So they are 2 yr busts not 06 busts...I agree with only 5 on this list actually signed this year
  1. Can weaver be a bust for cards when he hasnt pithced yet? for angels yes...
  2. Ponson contract is not near what these others are.
There are some notables not sure contracts but here

these are not based on $$$(cept burnett)
rondell white,
ruben sierra,
AJ Burnett.

ponson
ponson cost the cardinals like what? only 1 million this year? they should have kept him and put him in the bullpen, i think it was a wast to just drop him.  Obviously the yankees wanted him, they could have used him to trade with.... I feel it was a questionable move, and weaver sucks! they might as well ask pujols to pitch.
Thats a Winner
