Cards need a bat, Rangers need a starter......
The Cards need a bat at a corner OF or 2b. Rangers need a starter. The Cards have extra arms, the Rangers have extra OF/2b/Utility guys. Seems like natural trading partners. So, what combo for a trade makes sense? Mulder/Marquis/Reyes/Wainwright for Kinsler/Mench/Garry Mathews Jr/Wilkerson/DeRosa? Some things to keep in mind for the non-Ranger savy: - GMJ and DeRosa are having monster years, Kinsler could be 2b for 10-15 years, Mench has fallen out of favor. What works for both teams. Thoughts?

Kevin Mench is bad...
In april he hit 342 with 7 homers and 22 rbi.
in may he hit .276 with 3 homers and 8 rbi.
in june hes hitting .222 with 1 homer and 6 rbi.
plus, he is only hitting .270 with 3 homers away from arlington.
you really want to even part with Ponson for that? I certainly don't.
If we are getting an outfielder from Texas I would prefer to just take a flier on Laynce Nix since he is only 26 and hit real well last year on the road.
He hit .291 with at .316 obp (not great) but a .445 slugging percentage on the road.
It would be nice to get YOUNGER rather than get old rental players.
mench is 28
nix is currently hitting .270 in triple a, with a .310 OBP --- 6 walks vs 40 strikeouts.
i will agree with you that kevin mench has his limitations, but nix doesn't have much going for him . . . .
