On this date in Cardinal history - May 9, 1988 - Jose Oquendo was the losing pitcher in a 19-inning loss to the Braves. He became the first non-pitcher to get a decision in a MLB game in more than 20 years.
(props to my STL Cardinal Calendar for that tidbit.)
This begs the question, who would you rather see take the mound for STL? Oquendo or Marquis?
