Just a thought that I had after reading the diary from Azruavatar on adding a SP - potentially someone like D-Train.

We've discussed possible scenarios and players which would help the SP and OF on the team, but the easiest and cheapest hole to plug on the roster may actually be 2B.

In a few weeks, Cesar Izturis will be returning to the Dodgers with no place to play after losing his starting role via injury and the acquisitions of Furcal, Mueller and Nomar.

Izturis is NOT a sexy player, but is a gold glove defender and at age 26 has shown decent and steady improvement with the bat.

I say trade for him and play him at 2B for a year or two until Eckstein leaves and then slide him over to SS for the prime of his career.

A gold-glove, switch-hitting, undersized SS in STL??? Seems like that formula has worked alright before, could it happen again?
