bring back reggie?

Reggie Sanders has gotten off to a good start over in KC. His line through April 11:

.348 2 HR 7 RBI

It was noted this evening on Baseball Tonight that if he's playing well come July the Royals are likely to trade him to a contender in need of an OF in exchange for a prospect. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing the Cards trading to bring him back. I know they didn't resign him for a reason (thinking his production would fall because of his age), but if he keeps producing why not go out and bring him back to fill the void in left? What do you guys think?

I dunno
It seems the guy always gets off to a roaring start and fades by early summer. Plus, is there a single pitcher that is ever terrified of him in the playoffs?

Not that I would recommend this trade
if it cost anything more than a low to mid grade prospect, but

I don't think Jake Peavy remembers this particular playoff game very fondly.  So there would be at least one.

Agreed
Sanders would have been a vast upgrade and looking very good in the No. 6 slot in the batting order, no matter his age. Even if Walt was determined to see what Bigbie could do in left, is there anyone who would not rather see Sanders in right field over Encarnacion, let alone in the lineup? Sanders epitomizes a Cardinal player much more than who is in right field right now, IMHO. And it SURE would have been nice for Cardinal fans to congratulate him in person upon acheiving 300 HRs and 300 SBs. That's rare air for MLBers.

That would never happen
The Cards would have to eat his salary and lose a prospect.  Management would never make a move to highlight their own stupidity.
