So we now have Braden Looper, Brad Thompson, Adam Wainwright and Josh Hancock coming out of the bullpen from the right side. I for one was really pleased by the Looper signing in the offseason even at the slightly inflated rate. He's an ex-closer and while he was never top flight as a setup guy I thought he could be. He's doing everything he can to make my faith in him look foolish this ST and I am concerned about our BP. Wainwright and Hancock are both still rookies and Thompson was good but was he good enough to be the primary setup guy for Izzy if Looper falters?
The left inspires a little more faith if only because we have two steady if entirely unexciting LHP in Rincon and Flores.
We have problems at 2nd and LF but the BP, which has been a huge strength for us the previous two years, hasn't shown signs of coalescing yet in my opinion. Am I the only one this concerns, and what happens if Looper falters?
