Cardinals Christmas

Merry Christmas! I hope Santa was good to you this year. I have many things to be thankful for this year! The first is not the Cardinals winning the World Series though. (It is second) I was married on Nov. 4th so the back-end of the year was awesome! Anywho I just wanted to know how many stockings were filled with World Series DVD's. THis Christmas I got...

  1. World Series DVD
  2. 1 case of Bud Aluminum WS logo
  3. 3 magnum bottles bud WS logo
  4. 1 WS bud logo mirror
  5. SI special edition WS magazine
  6. about 4 shirts (one it a polo-type)
  7. WS champ pajama pants
Hasn't this been a great year? Let us all be thankful this holiday season and let me know what I need to add to my collection.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

I just watched that WS DVD....
and after watching that and then seeing about 5 minutes later that soup signed, made me really want to see the Cards bring Weaver back.

no kidding
what a xmas present that would be.  the undeniable fact of the matter is that weaver and suppan were frickin' gods, warriors, gladiators in cardinals uniforms.

if i hear one more person suggest that brad thompson is anywhere close to the caliber of pitcher as suppan or weaver i am going to throw up all over my computer.

Merry christmas Soup!  I hope you beat us every single time you play us. With any luck, Brad Thompson will start each of those games.

I got the DVD
too. pretty cool stuff. i think weaver could be back, after watching the dvd you would think he'd want to come back. some w/wilson, it was funny hearing him talk so much after being with the team for such a short time. but he seems like a real nice guy.

i also got a world champs hoodie, the "official" one. I also got a red VEB tee, very sweet of my wife.

Aren't you
gonna need a baby WS tee? Heck are you gonna have the first kid of 07?

I'm there with you
#3 is coming Dec 28.  One of my wife's sister's (married to a Red Sox fan!) bought the new one a whole Cardinals ensemble - onesie, socks, hat, big blanket, etc.

Needless to say, we know what little Aaron will be wearing when we bring him home (if all goes according to plan).

2006 World Champs! Inconceivable! You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Santa gave me
Uh, actually he got me a lot of stuff but I'll only list Cardinals-related things

Three shirts (one WS shirt), a WS hat, and a WS gold coin.  I'm expecting to get the WS DVD here in about 3 hours.

gifts
I was with the side of the family that is Cardinal challenged, but I bought myself the DVD from McDonald's and since I thought the win was important enough to commemmorate in my scrapbook, I bought baseball scrapbook paper for my mom, one of which was a scan of the YADI! YADI! YADI! paper.

My best gift
was this DVD set from the wife:

http://store.aetv.com/html/product/index.jhtml?id=76965&browseCategoryId=&location=&pare ntcatid=&subcatid=

It has all five WS games uncut plus Games 5 and 7 of LCS uncut, and a bonus disc of Busch 3 Opening Day, Trophy Presentations, Interviews, etc--even highlights from the 82 WS!! It's The Bomb. Love that gal.

I received the same thing
From my mom, actually.  She's a huge Cards fan (grew up in Madison, Venice and Granite City in the Metro East).

It's phenomenal - especially the bonus DVD.  Love seeing Weaver being interviewed after the fact and wearing a red Cards hat proudly.

Only compllaint: I would have liked to have seen more clubhouse celebration after the World Series victory.

And would have liked to have seen the Taguchi blast vs. Wagner - you only get games 5 & 7 of the NLCS.

More Christmas action
I got the WS DVD, that SI commemorative issue (came upon that by accident) and the Die Hard Cards book.

It has a very well written intro by Mr. Borowski.

My Christmas was very red as well...
I got the WS DVD (awesome), 3 or 4 Cards shirts, Diehard Cards, Busch III yearbook, several 8x10 Cards pics, an aluminum Cards bucket, several commerative WS pins for my cap, and I'm still waiting on the SI book and baseballs...

I think I'm gonna have to have that 2006 Cardinals Collector's edition DVD set as well...

Hope everyone had a great Christmas...  :-)

boxed set
I got the boxed set too.  I've only watched one game so far, but it was nice.  Must be taken from the HD broadcast, because it was widescreen.  Also it has the Spanish audio track, which is fun to listen to.  Reminds me of '05 when I listened to "largo largo homerun de Pujols" about 50 times the day after NLCS Game 5.  Now if only they could put those out on DVD...

Speaking of DVD's, does anybody know if the McDonalds DVD is the same as the Official MLB version (with Billy Bob narrating)?

Btw, for anybody interested in that boxed set, it's only $48 at DeepDiscountDVD.com, and with free shipping too.
