Mulder back to Oakland...

I saw the below prediction on mlbtraderumors.com's recent Top 50 Free Agents and Where They'll Go list...

39. Mark Mulder - A's.  Mulder still has friends on the A's and could be a bargain for Billy Beane on an incentive-based deal.  The Orioles have been mentioned as well, but are probably the third choice after the A's and Cards.

...and thought: God, if that happens, the irony!  If the A's ever win a championship I'm sure there are people in Card Land (and on this board) who'll want a share of it... or they'll just scream a lot, insofar as one can scream in print.

I can't see Mulder with the A's
Isn't their whole M.O. about strikeout, walk, and homerun rates...defense independent pitching.  Not exactly something Mulder is known for these days.  Mulder is nothing without a solid infield defense.  He'd be wise to stay in STL.

I'm just saying...
with the peripherals mulder's got, I don't see him getting too big of an offer from Oakland.  I can see the Mets (especially if Pedro officially reitres) as a more likely big-offer source.
