St. Louis Cardinals: The Movie

Who would play our favorite Cardinals once Disney makes the inevitible straight-to-DVD sappy-film about the 2006 season? Could be a fun debate since these guys are more hi-profile than they've ever been.

What really got me thinking about this was the fact that John Voigt would make a great Dave Duncan (loved the jacket at the victory rally). So lets go with that:

Who plays the rest?

Jason Marquis: Joaquin Phoenix?
Eck: Chad Lowe?
Speezer: Michael Madson

would most definitely be played by Scott Patterson (of Gilmore Girls fame, sorry). With the rally cap, they could be twins.

The 2006 season, particularly the World Series, would be good fodder for a documentary, but prob not a cheesy Disney film. Disney likes homeruns, not errors.

Still, this is fun.

This diary reminds me

of one of my all-time favorite posts over at the old Redbird Nation run by Brian Gunn: also an attempt to cast the (2003 was it?) Cards with actors. The priceless one is Julia Stiles as Scott Rolen -- it's so true!

Question

Will there be a retrospective, detailed DVD released recapping the ENTIRE 2006 season.

The World Series DVD from MLB will only cover the playoffs.

I live in Massachussetts and when the Sox (regrettably) won, the local cable station that broadcasted the games released a DVD going month by month through the season, all the way through october.

I would love to see a similar video from the Cardinals somehow.
