WS Predictions

Wanted to get some predictions for the WS.  A good number of you predicted ALL THE WAY BABY!! on LB's poll, but I wanted to see what everyone thought now.

Also, give me us your predictions for series MVP.

Myself: Cards in 6 with Carp pitching 2 gems and winning the MVP.  I also expect Rolen to start producing and those DET pitchers to challenge Pujols and give him a change to do some damage.

call me crazy,
but I see Jeff Weaver continuing to come up big and nabbing the MVP.
Now the story of a wealthy family who lost everything, and the one son who had no choice but to keep them all together...it's Arrested Development.

Cards in 5...
maybe I'm hallucinating, but I like our chances against Verlander.

He was terrible in August (6.83 era), bad in September (4.82 era), terrible in October (5.91 era)...

We hit him hard in June, when he was actually pitching well...

His splits against lefties aren't great, so we'll finally see more of Duncan/Speez and less of Wilson...

If Reyes can keep it together (a big if) we could grab games 1 and 5. Game 2 favors the Tigers with Rogers pitching, but Games 3 and 4 fall in our favor with Robertson and Bonderman facing Carp and Supp in St. Louis.

Reyes is the key to the series... We need 10 innings and 5 earned runs or less for the series from him.

MVP: Edmonds. He loves 100 mph fastballs.

Pessimism
Hmm, I don't know about this series...  Detroit has a powerful pitching staff, a capable line-up, and a manager who won't make many (if any) mistakes.

I know I was wrong when I said Padres in 4 and Mets in 5, but I'll have to go with Tigers in 5.  I think the Cardinals are out of miracles, Weaver can't continue to pitch like an ace, SoTag and YaMo are out of homeruns, and sooner or later the bullpen will give way.  (I, however hope I am wrong on all accounts.)

Don't get me wrong, I'll root like crazy for our boys, but the series is a bigger long-shot than the last two.

The '06 Cardinals- The New '73 Mets? (Sorry, but I have to be real about our chances)
