Triple A Pitching

While getting my own blog ready I thought I would throw out some stream of consciousness that I have had recently.  I just took the raw Triple AAA statistics for all pitchers with more than 75 IP and applied some filters.  Here are the pitcher(s) that fit the following criteria:

IP >= 75
WHIP <1.25
K/9 > 8
BB <= 2.5
HR/9 <1.0
K/BB > 3
GS% >=80% (eliminate relievers)

Granted these are a little arbitrary but any pitcher putting up these lines is doing pretty well.  You probably have already guessed that a certain Memphis Redbird would qualify but it is suprising that he is the ONLY one.  Of course, these stats are before him getting knocked around (AGAIN) last night.

Dominant AAA Starters
Name   Team   W   L   IP   RA    WHIP    K/9    BB/9    HR/9    SO/BB
A Reyes    MEM    7    5    116.7    3.78    1.07    9.64    2.31    0.77    4.17

Hey, it gives us a little hope for the future, eh.  Certainly there are more talked about pitchers in the minors (King Felix, for one - now in the majors), but it is nice to have him on our side for the future.
